Pokello Education and Training Solutions (NPC) partners with accredited training providers to deliver quality-driven, accredited skill development training programmes to project beneficiaries.
Creating long-term, sustainable prospects in life and being able to facilitate the absorption of unemployed youth and individuals into viable entrepreneurship and employment opportunities is the backbone to our skill development programme.
Programme objectives
- Skill enhancement: Practical skill development training (industry specific).
- Entrepreneurial training: Fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, teaching individuals the skills needed to start and run their own small businesses.
- Community impact: Strengthening communities by stimulating the growth of local businesses.
Programme components
- Skill development training: Accredited industry specific certifications and qualifications.
- Workplace exposure: Practical supervised pragmatic teaching and learning.
- Entrepreneurial coaching: Business basics, financial literacy and business mentorship.
- Job readiness workshops: Soft skill development and employability skills.
- Community engagement: Active community participation.
Programme structure
- Corporate partner-based needs analysis: Establishing a skill development project plan that aligns with the corporate partner’s CSI and SED mandate.
- Community workshops: Further engaging on the skill deficits and employment gaps within the identified local community.
- Needs assessment: Conducting surveys and interviews to identify the specific needs, wants and expectations of the project supported beneficiaries.
- Establishing partnerships: Collaborations and partnerships with the DBE, other schools, community centres and local NGOs are key.
- Programme rollout: Implementation of all skill development programme training components.
- Monitoring and evaluating: Regularly assessing the programme effectiveness and making necessary adjustments.
- Feedback and reporting: Providing metric-based and qualitative project feedback reports, as well as participating in regular accountability meetings regarding the progress of the project.
